Seems like every time I go south, when people ask me where I’m from, I say Maine.  More than likely, the person that asks believes I had to get a passport to travel.

For anyone that actually reads my blog, I’m going to introduce you to Maine, Vacationland, The Way Life Should Be, or the big state next to New Hampshire. With the recent “Wicked Mainah Style” video going viral, that will also basically tell you what you need to know about this great state.

For those of you from outside of Maine, take notes for when you make the trip North. You will face road construction at all times of the season, since the best time to do road construction is in the middle of July, just to screw with the tourists. We don’t like Massachusetts drivers, or driving in Massachusetts for that matter, but we’re avid sports fans of the teams that hail from that damn state.

The Patriots are our team, Bill Belichick may be seen as a devil character elsewhere, but here he is a God, and Tom Brady is jesus. The 2004 and 2007 World Series were the greatest thing to ever happen in sports, and we don’t want to talk about last season, or the New York Yankees (yes I hate to break it to everyone, but YANKEES SUCK).

When talking about Nascar, the folks up here know three drivers, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Ricky Craven.  Craven?  Yes, the 2003 Darlington race was incredible from the Maine driver. We take our racing seriously up here, plenty of great drivers hail from the Pine Tree State.

You may of heard about our state on the National news, recently we’ve had big stories such as, Zumba instructor runs prostitution clinic, Governor doesn’t like Obama and Women walk around naked in Portland.  Seems pretty crazy, but.. okay yes, we’re all crazy. By the way, uh is a letter up here. Ayuh. But just remember, no matter what you hear from anyone about the people in Maine, we are the nicest people in the country, and will do everything we can to help you. Unless you ask us annoying tourists questions like.. “when does LL Bean close?” or “What does Moose crossing mean?” In that case, finish your shopping and go home.

Anyways, I’m gonna prepare for our next snow storm, gotta break the shovels out. I’m sure I’ll add more later. In the meantime, enjoy some of these photos from Maine Memes. And if you want some entertainment while learning more about Maine, check out Comedian Bob Marley, not the stoner, the wicked funny guy from here.

Don’t ever ask a Mainer for directions.

Our snow storms.. pretty much.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been stuck behind a tractor on the way to work.

Red’s Eats in Wiscasset, traffic jams everywhere.

I think I know that guy, his names Jerry.
