Defending Amsoil Nelcar Touring Series champion Evan Beaulieu, 19, finished sixth in the series’ stop at Seekonk (Mass.) Speedway over the weekend. His finish has him second in series points behind leader Mathew Bourgoine despite a hiccup the night before when he broke a gear at Beech Ridge Speedway and ended his night on the trailer.
“I’m pretty happy with the finish overall,” Beaulieu remarked. “The car definitely wasn’t where I wanted it to be in the feature and I wanted to make sure I got the best finish I could. We came out of here second in Nelcar points which is better than I thought we might be after our DNF at Beech Ridge yesterday. I would like to come back for some Friday night racing here over the summer if we can. We’ll just have to see how it works out. Seekonk is a fun track and I really enjoyed racing here today. Thanks to my team and my sponsors for making all of this possible.”
Evan’s next race is Sunday, May 13th. He’ll be back on the road course at New Hampshire International Speedway, where he won two weeks ago. “Another win there would be amazing,” smiled Evan. “I know we can do it, but Shaun (Buffington) and the other guys won’t make it easy. I’m looking forward to going back there next week!”
