Beech Ridge, ME – Evan Beaulieu has been second so many times in the last couple of months that he was beginning to see the number “2” in his sleep. Thursday night at Beech Ridge Speedway in Beech Ridge, Maine Evan started 18th in a 19-car field and charged his way to the win.
After it was over Evan was one happy camper in victory lane.
“That was so much fun,” Evan exclaimed. “We passed every single car on the outside. I never used the bumper even one time. Keven Hutchens and I were racing hard for first. We touched and he spun. I hate it for all the cars who got in the wreck. Neither of us were giving an inch. It was just hard racing. I’m glad we finally got the win after six straight second place finishes. The No. 56 Hancock Lumber car was an absolute rocket tonight and I can’t thank Todd, Derek and Kyle enough for getting our car this good. It was great to see Charlie Buxton in our other car finish second as well. Hopefully that’s the first of many 1-2 finishes for us.”
Evan now leads the AMSOIL Nelcar Series points by 30 over Matt Bourgoine and he also leads the V.I.P Thursday Thunder standings by 12 over Bob Weymouth.
The next race for Evan and his team will be this Thursday, June 28th at Beech Ridge in the next round of Thursday Thunder.
