This weekend marks many great events.  Weather pending, our first Super Late Model race of the season will be this weekend at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, the Indy 500, Monaco F1 and the Coke 600 are all on Sunday as well. First of all though, let’s take a minute to pray and say thank you to all of our troops past and present who have fought to give us freedom.

Our car is ready to go for tomorrow night’s season opener at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway.  Hopefully the weather will hold off, and we can do some racing tomorrow night.  Can’t thank Dan McKeage and the Naughty 40 team enough for the opportunity they are giving me to drive their car this season.  Also to Greg Peters for all the hard work he has done on the car and of course my dad, Kyle and Derek for being on the crew and helping out.  We are going to make the most of this season.

After Saturday night at 8AM will be the without a doubt the can’t miss race of the season, the Monte Carlo Grand Prix in Monaco.  Formula One cars running on the streets of Monaco inches from the barrier each corner.  I’m going to go with Fernando Alonso to take the win, Ferrari’s have been fast.  Want to see the man Kimi Raikkonen get the win though.  Here are some highlights from last seasons race.

Then later on on Sunday, is the greatest spectacle in racing, the Indianapolis 500.  97th annual running of IndyCars biggest race of the season.  Judging by how great the past few years races have been, this one will not be disappointing.  I’ll go with James Hinchcliffe to get the win in the 500.  Then of course, Nascar concludes the night with the Coke 600.  The longest race of the season at Charlotte Motor Speedway.  I’m going to pick Dale Earnhardt Jr. to get the win.  He’s overdue for a win so far this season, and came a few gallons short of winning this race two years ago.

If you haven’t seen the finish to the IndyLights race from earlier today, you’re missing out. Check it out.

Everyone should keep up to date on all the happenings at not only the big three races, but at the races around the country as well on the new website I developed with Tom Baker, Race Chaser Online.  A great new site that will cover all aspects of Motorsports around the country.

I’ll end this blog with the trailer for the new movie, RUSH, coming out on September 20th.  The story of James Hunt and Niki Lauda’s rivalry, and it looks very well done.  Happy Memorial Day everyone, God Bless America.
