Durham, Maine – Evan Beaulieu continued to progress in his second Pro Series Late Model start at Beech Ridge Speedway on Saturday, running as high as 8th position before handling issues left him 12th at the checkers.  A strong run for the team in the 23 car field.

Beaulieu started near the rear of the field for the 50 lap feature event, as all rookies start at the end of the field.  After a few incidents on the first lap, Beaulieu worked his way up to the 8th spot.  Handling issues started to plague the Beaulieu Construction Chevrolet though, as he found himself trying to defend his ninth place position. With ten laps to go, Beaulieu was spun, but made a remarkable save on the fronstretch, and only lost three positions en route to his 12th place at the checkered flag.

“All in all it was another good learning night for us,” Evan commented after the race. “A right front spring went bad on us in practice and we had to replace it with a stiffer one because that’s all we had. This hurt us at the end of the feature. We had a few close calls with wrecks early in the race but our Spotter Charlie Buxton was on his game and got us through. We passed our way up to 8th but then the spring we had to put in caused the car to get tight toward the end and fell off to 12th. We’ll work on it some this week with the crew and have new springs in it for next week.”

Evan was also happy that his car owner and teammate Dan McKeage won the race, snapping a five year winless streak and putting him in the points lead.

Evan has a busy week on tap, as he will run the opening race of the popular VIP Thursday Thunder Series at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway on Thursday night in the Legends Car, racing starts at 7PM.  Beaulieu will race the Super Late Model again on Saturday night at Beech Ridge and then travel south to New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the prestigious “Loudon Classic” Road Course Legends Car race on Sunday. Learn more about Evan Beaulieu on Facebook at the Evan Beaulieu Racing page, on Twitter @EBeaulieu56 and on the web at EvanBeaulieu.com.
