Durham, Maine – Evan Beaulieu moved up out of the INEX Legends Cars and into a Super Late Model stock car at Beech Ridge Speedway for this season, but like any driver he enjoys any competition he can get into.  Evan has been running the Thursday Thunder again this season in the Legends division.  Last week he got his first win of the year in that series and then finished 12th in the Super Late Model on Saturday night.

Evan was plenty excited about the Thursday Thunder victory.  Making a three wide pass for the lead early on to grab the lead, he never looked back as he dominated.  “It definitely feels good, it’s been since last September since we’ve been to Victory Lane,” Evan stated after the race, “I enjoy racing anything I can get into and this has always been a blast for us to run on Thursday nights.”  Evan now sits 46 points behind Matt Bourgoine with two races remaining.

On Saturday night, Evan had a “much needed improvement” in the Super Late Model with the 12th place finish.  “The result doesn’t show how well we ran,” the driver explained.   “We were in and out of the top ten all race but we didn’t have the speed we needed on the bottom of the track to move forward as quickly as we needed to. Still this is much better race for us as we were competitive all night and small improvements from here should vault us into the top five very soon.  We’re getting the car more settled on the Hoosier tires now and that’s making a big difference.”

Evan has some “extracurricular” items going on this week with plenty of media and other outside appearances.  He will be on Mainely Motorsports TV this Wednesday night on Time Warner Cable Channel 9 at 8pm to talk about his rookie season so far. He will also have the Super Late Model on display at Hancock Lumber in Brunswick on Thursday, August 15th.  There will be a Toys for Tots on Thursday drive to benefit the local kids, and will be taking an unwrapped toy or money donation until they hand the toys over at the Portland Motor Club annual Car Show on Labor Day, September 2nd.

This week, the team will be back in action on Thursday night for the second to last race of VIP Thursday Thunder at Beech Ridge, racing starts at 7PM and tickets are just $4!  Come see all the drivers after the race as well as it’s the return of the popular autograph hour!  Evan is back in the Super Late Model on Saturday night, racing starts at 6PM and will be features only as the American-Canadian Tour has a 150 lap feature after the regular Nascar Whelen All-American Series.
