Epping, N.H. – After being caught up in a crash in the finale of Beech Ridge (Maine) Speedway’s Thursday Thunder series that cost them a championship, Evan Beaulieu’s team worked all night Friday and into Saturday morning to prepare for action at Star Speedway in Epping, New Hampshire.
All the hard work paid off. Evan started 21st in the rained out feature from August 4th and finished seventh. Then he ended the night in victory lane in the regularly-scheduled race, taking the lead on the opening lap from the outside of the front row, and never looking back to take the checkered flag!
“That was one long week,” the weary but happy 19-year-old racer said while enjoying the spoils of victory. “Thursday night was a blow for us because we thought we had a good shot at winning a second straight championship at Beech Ridge but then we got caught up in a wreck. My Dad and Derek worked really hard with me to get the car ready to come here (to Star). We were a little bight tight in the makeup race so we made some adjustments and got it almost perfect for race two. It feels great to end with a win after all that! I can’t thank my fans and sponsors enough for all their support throughout the week and the season as well!”
With a week off from the Amsoil Nelcar Series, Evan will take the Hancock Lumber No. 56 to New York State to race at Bethel Motor Speedway. Evan’s last trip to Bethel was in 2010 and resulted in a 5th place finish.
