Durham, ME – Evan Beaulieu will be back behind the wheel this weekend at one of the biggest single day fundraising events in all of Motorsports, the DT 100 for Make-A-Wish. The event is held annually at Maine Indoor Karting in Scarborough, Maine and brings in over 100 of the best short track drivers representing 11 states. The event has risen over $94,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation in just five events. Beaulieu is looking forward to making his first start in the race.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun to race with all these guys, these are some of the best drivers in racing and we all get to go have fun at the local kart track, and it’s all to help a great cause,” Beaulieu said of the event, “While we are there to raise money for Make-A-Wish, we are all still competitors and want to win, it’s just for bragging rights.”
Beaulieu raced his way into the event last month in the DT 100 Fast Forward event, a preliminary event to get additional qualifiers for the event. The races will be broken down in three divisions, lights, mediums and heavies. Beaulieu finished second in the Medium event feature.
This is just one of the many fundraising events that Beaulieu will be a part of during the 2014 season. Just a few weeks ago, he was jumping into the ocean in Portland, Maine for Camp Sunshine, a fundraiser that rose over $13,000. He will also be working closely with the camp this season, and they will have a few track days at the camp this season to give the children a chance to see the cars and their drivers up close.
We are still taking donations for the DT 100 for Make-A-Wish, please visit our website at www.evanbeaulieu.com to donate, or bring your donations to the event. Racing kicks off at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 1st at Maine Indoor Karting. Come down to see some of the best driver’s race for a great cause and to have a great time!
