Scarborough, Maine – Beech Ridge Speedway Late Model racer Evan Beaulieu joined 106 of his fellow short-track racers to compete in the DT100 Kart Race for Make-A-Wish at the Maine Indoor Karting in Scarborough, Maine.

Evan started in the back of his heat race, the consolation and the “A-Main” qualifier race en-route to earning a hard-won spot in the “A-Main”. He started 7th and battled his way to a fifth place finish out of the 12 racers who started. He ran the fastest lap of the race on his way through the field.

When the race was over, you couldn’t miss the smile on the youngster’s face. “That was a blast,” he said. “The coolest thing is that this year’s event raised over $30,000 for Make-A-Wish Foundation. That means over its’ six-year history, the race has raised over $100,000. That’s why we’re all here.”

Elaborating on the race itself, Evan talked of racing with drivers he hears about but doesn’t get to see much of during the season. “Burt and Jason Myers came up from the South to compete. Eddie MacDonald was there. This race brings together many drivers from all walks of short-track racing who come to have fun and raise money for such a worthy cause. I can’t wait to come back next year!”

The team will now shift focus on getting the car ready for the Pro All Stars Series North season opener at Oxford Plains Speedway on April 12th.
