Scarborough, ME – Evan Beaulieu and the #56 Hancock Lumber team were looking forward to getting back on track this past weekend for race two at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, however the race didn’t go as planned.  After running in the top ten, Beaulieu was involved in a chain reaction incident that sent his Chevrolet for a spin off turn four, putting him one lap and out of contention.

“We had a decent car tonight, I just really hate it for all my guys there that we were caught up in an incident, we are all working hard and we want to be up there contending in the top five like we know we’re capable of,” Beaulieu said sounding dejected after the race, “We probably had a top ten car tonight and they stacked up in front of me and I got out of it, looking back I should’ve just kept digging and we may not of been put in that spot.”

After starting from the ninth position in the 50 lap feature event, Beaulieu had to wait for a hole to get around some traffic around the outside early on.  Spotter Charlie Buxton kept Beaulieu in good position, and they were fighting hard inside the top ten.  After fighting hard on a restart, the leaders made contact ahead of Beaulieu, and a chain reaction incident left Beaulieu spinning off turn four.  He was able to restart the car without bringing out a caution flag, but fell a lap down en route to a 17th place finish of the 24 car field.

This coming week will be a busy one for the team, as they will clean the car up and turn it around for the popular Bentley’s All Era Car Show in Arundel, Maine on Wednesday afternoon.  Come to Bentley’s Saloon to see a great mix of cars past and present outside Maine’s most popular biker’s destination.  The team will be back next weekend at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway for week three of Nascar Nite with the Nascar Whelen All American Series on Saturday night, June 7th, racing kicks off at 7:00PM!
