Bethel, N.Y. – Last weekend was Evan Beaulieu’s first trip to Bethel Motor Speedway in two years. He was hoping to make the most of it by picking up a victory. Instead, he settle for a competitive third place finish.
After a third place finish in his heat, the 19-year-old Amsoil Nelcar series veteran started sixth in the Pro/Masters combined feature. Evan found that moving forward in the competitive field was going to be a bit of a challenge.
“We definitely had a car as quick as the leaders,” Evan said. “We had the speed. We just didn’t get through the traffic as easily as some of the regulars who race there weekly. It was obvious they knew the ins and outs of racing on that track much better than I did. We settled for third and we had fun. We are definitely looking forward to going back. Bethel is a neat facility and we were definitely made to feel welcomed there.”
Evan and his father Todd made it home from their seven hour trip in time to make his cousin, Michael Beaulieu’s party to celebrate his enlistment in the military, and we would like to congratulate Michael on his brave decision to serve our country. The Hancock Lumber No 56 will be back on familiar ground this weekend as the New Hampshire Motor Speedway opens its doors for another Nelcar Series race on the ¼-mile oval.
“We’ve been disappointed with our results in the last two races we’ve run at NHMS and we are looking to turn our luck around when we go back this weekend,” concluded Evan.
